Miriam’s first (half) year at Ki has been nothing short of wonderful, and they’d like to conclude it by proudly presenting the three amazing writers who have joined them during the past months.

The lovely Genevieve arrived from a carried-over R&R. Her heart-wrenching retelling of Swan Lake told through the cruel POV of Odile won Miriam over via its fierce, unforgettable voice.

Genevieve spent her childhood in Richmond, Virginia reading anything she could get her hands on, with a special love for Shakespeare and Tolkien. She got her start as a writer in playwriting, putting on productions of her own one-act plays in high school and college before branching out into novels.

Then, in a double feature from her query inbox, Miriam was honored to snatch C.C. and Joshua. C.C. ensnared them wickedly like a riptide with an adult queer epic fantasy set in pre-colonial Philippines, where a divine warrior and a cursed shaman team up across fated visions to free the Sun—literally.

C.C. Mar is a Filipino-Australian writer born in Sydney and raised on the sunny Gold Coast. A Public Relations Major and graduate of NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute, she is interested in using fantasy as a tool to explore diverse cultures and imagine human nature when stretched to its most impossible limits.

Meanwhile, Joshua happily stabbed Miriam numerous times with his adult horror fantasy taking place in a demon-plagued Victorian England, where two very unlikely girls à la Gideon the Ninth, a foul-mouthed street rat and a proud if vengeful lady, must begrudgingly ally to become monster hunters. But as any good horror novel, who are the real monsters?

Joshua Wesley is a queer writer based in Northern Ireland. He writes books that are as frightening as they are romantic. When he’s not reading or writing, he’s probably gaming under the name Addie.
