We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Ng Yi-Sheng to Fab's list. Fab fell in love with his writing when they visited the Singapore Writers Festival in November, so they're slightly starstruck to now be representing the author of one of their favourite reads of 2025. Look out for Yi-Sheng's historical fantasy and gritty weird coming to you soon.

Ng Yi-Sheng is a queer Singaporean writer, researcher and activist with an ADHD-fuelled fascination with Southeast Asian history and myth. His books include the historical fantasy novel Utama and the short story collection Lion City. His fictions and essays—including the influential “Spicepunk Manifesto”—have appeared in Clarkesworld, Strange Horizons, The Best of World SF and Speculative Insight. He's a two-time winner of the Singapore Literature Prize and has been a finalist for the Seiun Award and the Epigram Books Fiction Prize. He's also a lot older than he looks.
